BIOGRAPHY:

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Omar was raised by his mother, a local school principal. He studied at LaGuardia High School of Music and Art in New York. After his breakthrough in Juice with Tupac Shakur, Omar ran the risk of being locked into the same roles, playing athletes in most of these films. However, he won public acclaim for his portrayal of a college-bound kid on an athletic scholarship in John Singleton's Columbus Fever in 1995. He has appeared in several critically acclaimed series including Dr. House for which he received an award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series in 2007. He has appeared in the ER series and in several films directed by Charles Dutton and Danny Glover. He writes, produces and acts in the creations that "Brooklyn Works Films" name of the production company he created.
