BIOGRAPHY:
Michael Jai White is an actor, screenwriter and karateka born November 10, 1967 in Brooklyn, York. He often says that his growth stopped at the age of 14 and that he hasn't grown up since then.
During his high school years he made money teaching karate, fighting in martial arts tournaments, he was a karate instructor before he was 18 years old. After graduating from high school with honors, he earned degrees in communications, political science and engineering from several universities without really knowing what he would do with his life; the idea of a career in film had never occurred to him.
He eventually became a teacher and chose to help children in great difficulty for 3 years. In 1992, he left his students to pursue a career as an actor in L.A. He understood that he was made to be an actor.
The martial arts hold a great place in his life as an athlete and actor, it is also thanks to his physical qualities and his knowledge in karate that he started in the movies. He is a black belt in 7 categories of martial arts: Shotokan Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Okinawan Kobudo, Goju Ryu, Tang Soo Do, Wushu and Kyokushin Karate of which he is one of the great fighters since he was initiated by the inventor of this art Masutatsu Oyama.
