Alex Descas began in the cinema in 1984 with a secondary role in L' Arbalète. He continues with several small roles in crime films before turning with Claire Denis in S'en fout la mort. He plays a man who raises roosters for clandestine fights, a role that will earn him the Michel Simon Award and a nomination for the César for best male hope. The actor of Caribbean origin found Claire Denis for J'ai pas sommeil and Trouble every day where he played, in both films, the husband of Beatrice Dalle. He also appears as a gynecologist in Nénette and Boni. Attracted mainly by the cinema d'auteur, Alex Descas also turns twice with Olivier Assayas in Irma Vep and Fin aout, début septembre.
