Lisa Raye McCoy-Misick, better known as Lisa Raye, is an actress and fashion designer born in Chicago on September 23, 1967. She is the daughter of a businessman and a model and the half-sister of the rapper Da Brat.she attended Eastern Illinois University before starting a career in show business. She started as a model in church and high school fashion shows in Chicago. Lisa Raye didn't take the idea of acting seriously until a friend urged her to audition locally. She made her film debut in the low-budget action film Reasons in 1996. Despite excellent reviews for her performance, the film was not successful due to lack of distributors. The director of the film 'Monty Ross' convinced her to go to Los Angeles. It is in small roles on television in 1997 in the series Martin and In The House that she attracts the attention of the public.
