BIOGRAPHY:
Tommy “Tiny” Lister grew up in Compton, California, but chose to break the curses of his generation at an early age. He stayed away from gang life, choosing instead to stay home and watch Westerns. He chose religion over mischief and became interested in movies and television at an early age. Growing up watching Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart, Charlton Heston and Errol Flynn, Tiny had the chance to dream, and he imagined his own life in movies and television and Tiny made it all possible. During his university years, he won the NCAA Division II shot put championship, he also played soccer and began auditioning for movie and television roles. In 1984, he made his acting debut in the television series 1st & Ten on HBO where he played the role of Otis for 25 episodes. He made his movie debut in director Hal Ashby’s latest film, 8 Million Ways to Die, and spent the next few years learning the craft and appearing in heavyweight action and talent films: Runaway Train with Jon Voight, Beverly Hills Cop II with Eddie Murphy and No Holds Barred with Hulk Hogan, another WWF wrestler. Always on the cinema side Tommy will play the World President in Luc Besson’s fifth element, but it is his performance in the cult movie Friday that will launch his film career alongside Ice Cube and Chris Tucker. |
