BIOGRAFÍA:
Su carrera comenzó a los 8 años. La primera vez que saltó a la fama fue en 1983, cuando apareció en el musical de Broadway The Tap Dance Kid, donde recibió críticas positivas por su actuación y fue nominado al premio Outer Critics Circle.
En 1984, Alfonso apareció junto a Michael Jackson como bailarín en el anuncio de televisión de Pepsi. Durante ese mismo año, y hasta 1987, actuó en la serie Ricky o la Bella Vida.
En 1985, apareció con su propio nombre en un anuncio de la MTV para promocionar su libro "Alfonso's breakin' & poppin' book".
Su papel más notable es el de Carlton Banks, uno de los personajes principales de la serie The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air de 1990 a 1996. Interpreta al primo de Will Smith. Fue el director de varios episodios.
