Synopsis:
Rama, a young novelist, attends the trial of Laurence Coly at the Saint-Omer court of assizes. The latter is accused of having killed her fifteen-month-old daughter by abandoning her on a beach in northern France during the rising tide. But during the trial, the defendant’s words and the testimonies of the witnesses shake Rama’s certainties and question our judgment.
