Synopsis:
On the eve of the French Revolution of 1789, Toussaint Louverture prepared Santo Domingo to free himself of his chains, imposed by the French Colonization. His character, petrified with democratic convictions, and embodying the new values and benefits of the nascent Republic, he allied himself with France after having fought against the Spaniards and the English and rejected the Alliance with the States of ‘America.
