Daya Vaidya is an American actress born on May 20, 1983 in Kathmandu, Nepal. She is best known for her roles in popular TV series, including "Unforgettable" and "The Mentalist".
Daya Vaidya grew up in Oakland, California, after her family emigrated to the United States. She has always had a passion for the performing arts, and began taking dance and acting classes at an early age. She developed her skills as a dancer of Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance, and also studied singing and musical theatre. Her acting career really took off in 2011 when she landed the lead role of Inspector Nina Inara in the TV series "Unforgettable". Her character was an NYPD detective with a photographic memory. Her performance received critical acclaim and she was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the "Best Actress in a Drama Series" category.
